Kilarrow given a new lease of life.

August saw IDI taking on a new and exciting project - Kilarrow Community Hub Initiative. The building and garden was in need of some special TLC and the team have really done a fantastic job fixing the roof, fitting a new kitchen, air source heating and a new floor. Thanks to all our staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile to save this resource for our community.

With some new office space IDI Headquarters have moved from Whin Park up to Kilarrow. Look out for the Kilarrow Community Consultation which will open soon. This is for the asset transfer of the site from Argyll and Bute Council to IDI for a string of community projects and development.

Kilarrow is a former children's home which was owned by Sarah Daniels, who was reputedly related to The Rothschilds. The house itself is said to be haunted and the garden, which is being restored by IDI, was designed by The Beechgrove Garden.

We are hugely honoured to have the responsibility for this important asset and extend thanks to the former occupants of the building I.D.E.A.S, who sadly, are no longer active.

Keep an eye on our social media streams for Kilarrow news!
